Helping students improve their writing, revising and proofreading skills
LSSU’s Writing Center is a drop-in* service that provides students with assistance at all stages of the writing process, from idea generation through revision of a final paper. Our writing coaches work with students across all disciplines and help students learn to speak and write in a clear, organized and effective way.
* Appointments are required if a paper is 4 or more pages in length. Visit the Academic Success Center Reception desk to make an appointment with a writing coach.

An open mind and willingness to learn
The ability to speak and write in a clear, organized and effective way is vital to your academic success on campus as well as for any field of work you plan to pursue when you leave college. The primary goal of the Writing Center is to help all students improve their writing, revising and proofreading skills by working with a trained coach on their own writing. When you make an appointment at the Writing Center, our friendly and talented staff will work with you one-on-one at any stage of the writing process. Writing Coaches will not fix your drafts, but they will carefully read then offer suggestions and instruction about how you can make your writing more clear, concise and interesting.
